GCF Small Tech Grants Competition
Small Tech Grants Competition 2003
6 Countries
Funding amount: $24,000 total
In February 2003, the Global Catalyst Foundation distributed a Small Tech Grants Competition request for proposals for a third time. We asked a number of US NGOs to find small-scale grassroots organizations outside the US that needed $5000 or less to apply ICTs to existing or proposed projects. By May we received 38 proposals from groups in 23 countries. Requests were for computer equipment, staff and community training, network enhancements, and connectivity charges. Applications for this support addressed special education needs, health information, jobs and skills training, gender issues, and community resource development.
The 4 finalists in 2003 were selected by judges using the criteria established in the request for proposals.
Co-funders for the 2003 competition include the Flora Family Foundation and the Arrillaga Foundation.
Here is a copy of the 2003 Request for Proposals.
