the global catalyst book club

A book club for bold women who believe in the power of girls.

The Global Catalyst Book Club is an online book club that celebrates the voices, stories, and experiences of girls and women around the world. Every four months, we’ll come together to discuss a powerful novel or memoir by an inspiring female author — sometimes in conversation with the author herself.

WHY JOIN THE GLOBAL CATALYST BOOK CLUB?

Our book club is a fantastic opportunity to discover new perspectives, deepen your understanding of the lives of women and girls around the world, and connect with a community of like-minded supporters and advocates who share your passion for amplifying marginalized voices and creating a world where every girl can thrive.

Powerful stories. Bold conversations. Meaningful connections that will leave you feeling inspired and ready to make a difference.

Our current read

This quarter, we’re reading The Mountains Sing by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai. This powerful historical novel follows one family across generations, beginning with a woman fighting to keep her family together amid the Land Reform of the 1950s in North Vietnam. Decades later, her granddaughter comes of age amid the violence and upheaval of the Vietnam War, reckoning with her family’s history and the enduring bonds that hold them together.

Join us for our virtual discussion on Thursday, November 12 at 9 am PST / 12 pm EST. Whether or not you finish the novel, we invite you to join this dynamic conversion to meet your fellow book club members and celebrate the power and strength of girls and women.

Can’t make it this time? Register anyway to join our Book Club list and be the first to hear about our next book selection and upcoming events.
